## Description

Derale 13021 -6AN x -6AN In-Line Fluid Thermostat

Review: Exact fit. Quality. Came with everything I needed. - I needed this item to finish a transmission cooler with automatic fan project for my 2012 Tahoe. This works exactly as needeed - on at 180 degrees and off at 165 degrees. Keeps my transmission cool when I am towing. When not towing the trans temp is now less than 150 degrees. Never above 180 towing heavy loads. The cooler I installed is a DERALE # 13900 16 pass cooler. The -6 AN fittings with this kit exactly fit the AN fittings on my cooler.
Review: Simple and effective - I installed this inline in the trans oil line on a large Hayden plate and fin cooler with a fan. The fan is switched to a relay via this thermostat. I have an MSD device that reads all the available sensor data, and trans temp is one of my selected options. The thermostat is supposed to come on at 180 degrees, and it actually comes on at about 183-185. This is surely because the sensor and the thermostat are at different points in the trans fluid, hence the difference in readout. This is a simple install, and it works as indicated.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this be used with 11/32" hose?**
A: I'm sure it could be used, you would have to get the correct adapter fittings though. On another note I would not recommend purchasing. I never installed because the sensor screws into the fitting and is the absolute smallest fitting I have ever seen. I was concerned a bug may hit it and cause it to break off. It appears very delicate and easily broken.

**Q: How do you get the sensor to not leak? I have tried thread sealant and thread locker.**
A: I use TEFLON tape, 3 passes. No leaks

**Q: is this brass or something else? Do I get what is pictured? Derailed 13021? With 6an bard fittings?**
A: The one I got was not brass. Aluminum or other alloy.

**Q: Thread size?**
A: That is the thread...-6 (roughly 3/8)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Seems to work fine if you follow the instructions

It says to use a dab of thread sealant on the sensor, I did and it's not leaking at all. It also says to use a relay for fans over a 10 amp draw, the hayden 526 cooler I used draws about 7-8 on startup, so I used a relay to be safe.
