I have used both for about four or five years. Bottom line ... in spite of the price I would buy this one again. It simply reeks of quality.. At this point my other sharpener went belly up because of chipping. This one remains almost as I bought it. Can't ask for more. I will shortly replace the other with one of these, but with a different grit. In that way I will have two quality sharpeners with slightly different grit or abrasive textures to be able to more finely sharpen. I place high value on quality tools. This one is a keeper which says a lot since quality tools seem ever harder to find. Review: F Dick works great - Best steel I've owned.
