## Description

Review: Makes brilliant dairy yogurt - I was hoping this would make good non-dairy milk yogurt but unfortunately I only had success with soya milk. So I gave up and my husband used them to make dairy yogurt. He says it has made the best yogurt he has ever tasted. He re-uses the yogurt to make the next batch and is now on batch 10 with no loss of quality. This makes it a very economical way of making excellent yogurt.
Review: Sadly not good quality - Whatever is contained in these sachets sadly just doesn't activate strongly enough to make a decent yoghurt. One of the sachets gave me something similar to a yoghurt drink, whilst the others did nothing at all. Perhaps it's been stored poorly at some point and the starter has died. I wouldn't buy again.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How do you use this?**
A: The instructions are in the product images and as follows:
1. WASH YOUR HANDS AND PREPARE YOUR MILK.
Preheat your milk (one starter culture sachet is good for 1L of milk) until its a temperature a bit below boiling. Let the milk cool to room temperature. This is important if you are using milk that has already been opened. You may choose to skip this step if you are opening a new container of milk.
2. PREPARE YOUR SUPPLIES.
Clean and dry your containers before adding milk mixture. Make sure the container is not straight out of the dishwasher as it may be too hot and will destroy the starter culture.
3. ADD YOUR THERMOPHILIC STARTER CULTURE.
Add starter culture to the container and add a portion of the milk. Stir for 30-60 seconds with a clean spoon before adding the rest of the milk. Redistribute into separate containers if your yoghurt maker requires. Close your yoghurt maker and set for a minimum of 6 hours or up to 24 hours.
4. WAITING FOR YOUR YOGURT TO SET.
The longer yogurt sets, the thicker and more tart it becomes. If this is your first time making yogurt, start checking it after 4 hours and stop when it reaches a flavour and consistency you like. Avoid stirring the yogurt until it has fully set. When its ready cool in the refrigerator and enjoy. Homemade yoghurt is good for up to 10 days but rarely lasts as long.

**Q: What is the shelf life of the sachets kept in the fridge?**
A: Shelf life can be extended by 6 months if kept in the fridge at 2-8ºC or 12 months if kept in the freezer at below -20ºC.

**Q: Do I need these for making yoghurt or can I just use two tablespoons of live yoghurt?**
A: To make this yogurt you can use either the culture or a few tablespoons of live yogurt if you have some on hand.

**Q: Does the thistle work with you soy milk?**
A: Thistle? I'm not sure I understand your question?
This starter culture works with soy milk but may need some thickener if you like your yogurt thick and some experimentation (different brands of soy milk have different ingredients and consistencies).

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Add dried milk.

Very good but if you want to make thicker yoghurt also put a spoonful of dried milk in.
