Our digital audio cables are made using Belden 1694A, a 75 ohm coax designed for high bandwidth -- sweep-tested, in fact, for a thousand times the required bandwidth of a S/PDIF signal. This cable has a solid 18 AWG copper center conductor, foamed HDPE dielectric, and a mylar-aluminum foil screen topped by a 95% coverage tinned copper braid screen -- this combination is more effective than quad-screen cable in keeping out EMI/RFI. With superb impedance stability and strong physical integrity, this cable is both electrically and mechanically suited for S/PDIF use. Canare RCAP RCA Plugs: We terminate these cables using Canare's superb RCAP series RCA connectors. The Canare RCA is a three-piece crimp design which preserves the cable's characteristic impedance deep into the plug body, for minimal signal reflection.
