I was required to wear a swimming cap for open water swimming but didn't want the uncomfortably tight, hair-tearing unpleasantness of a rubbery one. This ticks all of the boxes that are the complete opposite of what I was dreading. Feels more like a snug beanie, doesn't remove hair from your neck or give a headache due to tightness. It's waterproof too as long as common sense is applied bearing in mind that your head isn't a perfect sphere and a little bit of water might sneak in past your ears. I have long hair, fine but lots of it and I am able to get it into the cap. It doesn't keep my hair bone dry but I don't think any do. What it does is keep my hair mainly dry so that I am not getting it soaked in salt water which is damaging. I swam on holiday in the sea for an hour most days and rinsed it out each day it was ideal and I think it will last.
