    A real ball-breaker of an intro adventure

This adventure is billed as an introduction adventure for the Starship Troopers roleplaying game, aimed at characters of levels 1 - 3.  Essentially the PC's as relatively inexperienced troopers are assigned to Lockwood's Lions (a veteran squad that has suffered some recent heavy casaulties).Sent to retrieve the small garrison at a SICON system montoring station (SSMS) in the Selvache system, the PC's are a long way from home.  No sooner have the PC's squad arrived then they encounter bugs and the bodycount soon begins to mount.  The squad has to tramp across twenty odd miles of hostile landscape (with several bug encounters to liven things up) to the SSMS, only to find their supposed refuge has already been overrun by the bugs.The next scene is a desperate fight for survival (your players had better be rolling some good d20's!) as wave after wave of bug warriors.  Just when all seems lost, their Skyhook retrieval boat manages to extract the suvivors.There was only one thing that spoiled this otherwise excellent intro adventure.  The PC's squad is set down over twenty-miles from the base becuase atmospheric conditions around the base prevent any drop ships from landing.  Period.Then at the climatic firefight scene, suddenly the retreival boat can land and extract the PC's squad - with nary a mention of atmospheric conditions.  While I appreciate it is done for dramatic effect, if there is one thing I like in any adventure of any genre, it's continuity.Enjoy.
