API PIMAFIX is a 237 ml liquid antifungal remedy designed for freshwater and saltwater aquariums. It rapidly treats fungal infections on fish using a natural extract from West Indian Bay trees, while also helping heal internal and external bacterial infections. Safe for reef tanks and all life stages, it works best when used daily for a week and in combination with API Melafix for comprehensive aquatic health.

## Description

The best way to keep your aquarium clean is to maintain good water quality. This will keep your fish strong and vibrant, as well as preventing disease.
It is important to test your aquarium water weekly to verify good quality in addition to a bi-weekly partial water change of no more than 25% to help reduce toxic buildup, remove debris the filter missed, and replenish the oxygen available to fish.
Feed your fish twice daily only the amount of food they can eat in 2 to 3 minutes depending on the species. Some fish such as bottom feeders and algae eaters will need up to 30 minutes to 2 hours. Overfeeding & low quality nutrition cause unconsumed food and more excrement which cloud water and raise harmful ammonia levels, possibly leading to fish loss. Take time to observe fish and the water temperature to ensure they are active & healthy.
An aquarium is a closed environment and in order for fish to thrive, water must be similar to that which could be found in their natural environment. Poor water quality can cause fish stress, illness and even loss. **Q: Do just put this into the tank like a dose for white spot or is it a dip**
A: You put it in the water of the tank every day for 7 days, then do a partial water change, then treat after the water change.

**Q: Should this be put in pond?**
A: It can, although this is the aquarium version so the directions wouldn't be correct for pond use.  There is a Pond version around simply called Pond Pimafix.

**Q: I want the pond version of this but search just brings up pond melafix, is there a pond version of the primafix?**
A: There is but it's rarely stocked by anyone - we never sell the Pond version of either. It's very common that people buy this version and then look up a dosage calculation online.

**Q: How long does it take to work?**
A: Visible improvement within 48 hrs. Problem kept reoccurring until we upgraded filtration. In the long term improvement in water quality is the answer rather than dosing with chemicals.

Worked well the fungus just fell off my 13yr old small pond goldfish, 2nd day she perked up but on the 4th and 5th day i lost her,she probably didnt have the stamina left to fight the infection if it was internal, totally gutted but my fault for not acting earlier, i feel the product is good and effective if used as soon as you notice an infection.

I have recently been told that these products don't work but I can tell you that they do, I just don't know if it's as affective as others.Definitely resolves Fungal problems on fish. It's recommended to do a water change after a week but it's not harmful to leave longer.
