They're very absorbent but you can still stick a pad inside them so that you're not just free bleeding. The underwear was soft and breathable and was easy to move around in without feeling like anything down below was slipping. I didn't have a single leak in them and used them frequently. I'm definitely keeping these for when my period shows back up again because they are perfect for sleeping at night without having to worry about a leak or wearing a tampon.
