Very heavy duty, I believe it can hold large lens DSLRs and spotting scopes. The only concern I have with this mount is the backing plate that is pressed against the glass when you tighten the threaded knob. It's not attached or clipped to the threaded rod so when you back it off enough to make room for the window, that give the plate enough room to move forward and fall off. Once it's clamped down it can't go anywhere so there is no danger to your camera. If you get in a hurry to attach the mount to the glass the plate can be lost in your vehicle before you get it tightened or removed. I will include a photo with a red arrow to indicate the piece.If you need spare quick release mounting plates the  Velbon QB-4W Quick Release Platform  is identical to the OEM plate. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Another made in China *by T***R on Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2008* I have used this item only one time and it seems ok. It's got a very plastic look and feel to it. Looks like if you over tighten some of the swivel parts to hold the camera position that they might break. I will have to pay attention to that. I'm talking a SLR camera and the weight of L-lens on it.
