Review: Great Product - do not work if plugged into an extension cords - After trying on my Christmas lights with no luck, i read the fine print that these do not function when connected to extension cords. I have main runs out to my yard and wanted these for some items and others to come on and off with mechanical timers. These do work when connected directly to the outlet. I hated to pull a star because it didn't meet my needs, just wish i knew the extension cord limitation.

Technically, these are just an overglorified clock turning on/off a switch so they are not as energy efficient as one of those modern digital timers but I trust these to work and last a long time as I grew up with grandparents that would use the original version of these devices to control lamps while they would go out of town on vacation. They work well and since they have two outlets they are easy to use.

### ⭐ Poor quality and function!

I've been through several sets of these with the overwhelming majority being defective. The units will turn the lights on, but will not shut them off regardless of which setting you use. I noticed that the only ones that work have solid clicks between settings in the dial. If the clicks are soft, the timer is guaranteed to not work. BN Link has good indoor plugs, remotes and timers, but these outdoor timers are as bad as I have seen from any manufacturer. With a failure rate of greater than 70%, I will never buy these again.
