Used a whole can as directed on my FICHT engine. There already was much less smoke near the end of the can. After letting sit for 24 hours there was some smoke at higher RPMs as the residual carbon was being burned off. There was black oily residue on the grass by the exhaust from the carbon. Boat engine ran so smooth after. I also used this to clean the carbon deposits off my piston and cylinder head of my lawnmower when I replaced the head gaskets. Dissolved it right up. I will order more and use this on not only my boat yearly, but also on all my small engines. Ran the whole can through the carb throats as the instructions state, which took about 15-20 minutes. Couldn't spray much at once since it would bog down the engine. Still wasn't sure there would be much change. Then allowed it to sit overnight and ran it again 15 minutes the next day as instructed. Well, I'm giving it 5 stars. Engine runs smoother at idle and doesn't want to die on idle in the water like it used to. Well worth the money and I highly recommend it. I think it runs quieter now at all RPMs so the wife is happier too. Check PCV valve if it has one, otherwise it could be due to piston rings/engine wear. **Q: Does this stuff clean the carbs as well?** A: Great stuff. My last can lasted 10 years and probably went 11 out of 12 cleaning dirty gummed up carbs. The last one I did (generator) would run on 1/2 choke only and would die under a load. sprayed engine tuner in to the carb. and it helped a little but still would only run on 1/2 choke. I poured out the old gas, put in a pint of fresh gas and sprayed in the last 1/2 oz. or so from the can into the tank and within a couple minutes of running, it cleared out and ran like new. For carb rebuilding, let all of the small brass and screws soak in a bowl for 30 minutes and that's all it takes.
