Interesting question, because I live in South Florida and 33-degrees might as well be Alaska to us ... but having said that, it it very windproof and has a fabric lining, so if you wore a nice fleece hoodie underneath I think you would be fine. Just bear in mind, it's designed to keep you dry .. NOT warm, but it will cut the wind enough that you can stay toasty if you wear something warm underneath. I would suggest you buy one size larger than you normally would to make room for whatever you wear undrneath. Helly Hanson tends to run a little on the smaller side. I bought one size larger and it fits me great. **Q: I am a former college athlete with wide shoulders and large chest, 6-ft and 250lb .. i usually wear 3xl jackets. do i need 4xl in this anorak?** A: I am a 48" chest and found the Helly Hansen size XL, from the first HH product I purchased, tight to the point of having to wear it with almost nothing underneath.
