## Overview

The WBM FX-420 Seam Sealing Tape is a 20-meter, 20mm wide transparent hot melt tape designed for waterproofing sewn seams on PVC and PU coated fabrics. Featuring a UV-stabilized TPU film and a high-performance adhesive, it offers durable, flexible, and non-yellowing waterproof seals. Easy to apply with a household iron at medium heat, it’s ideal for repairing tents, covers, awnings, and waterproof clothing, combining professional-grade results with DIY convenience.

## Description

FX-420 hot melt Seam Sealing Tape 20mm width (150 micron thickness) is used to seal seams on PVC Coated Waterproof Fabrics - garments, covers, ground sheets, boat hoods, tarpaulins, tents etc. We have been successfully supplying our products to these markets for industrial production since 1985. The Tape gives excellent sealing results on a wide range of waterproof coated / laminated textiles. It consists of 2 layers – aliphatic TPU film (UV Stabilised - non yellowing properties) and a specially developed hot melt adhesive with excellent flow characteristics for ease of application and high performance (the adhesive is on the inner side of the tape as it is removed from the roll).Further technical information on our range of Seam Sealing Tape is available on our website at http://www.wbm-uk.com/tapes.htm Application Instructions: For small scale production, repairs and patching the tape is applied using a Heat Press or Household Iron. In this case the temperature needs to be set on a medium / medium hot setting - the dwell time is the important factor and this can only be determined by experimentation – suggest in the region of 5-7 seconds with pressure applied. Ideally apply the FX-420 Tape to a small piece of waste fabric first to test adhesion strength - after test application and allowing time for cooling pull the tape back and you should feel a resistance and normally the tape should remove some of the waterproof coating. A light weight release paper (greaseproof - non-stick side down) can be used between the heated surface and the tape to avoid damage to the tape / fabric and to prevent it sticking to the iron or press.

Never used before. Used to make water proof coat with ripstop nylon. Used silicon paper between tape and my iron. Keep seams narrow or over lap a second strip of tape.Not really tried the coat yetI did enclosed french seams
