T-5500N hot melt material is suitable for a wide range of applications but is most commonly used for seam reinforcement, all types of repairs, knee pads, seat pads, elbow pads, glove facings, external decoration on wetsuits, dry suits, waders, fishing, canoe / paddle waterproofs etc. It has excellent durability and resistance to salt water hydrolysis. Not only does it add strength to the seam or repair it also remains flexible after application. T-5500N is used by major manufacturers of neoprene Wetsuits, Dry Suits throughout the world and is a tried and tested product. We have been successfully supplying T-5500 to the industry for more than 15 years. Application Instructions: T-5500N is applied using a hand iron or heat press. The temperature needs to be on a medium / medium hot setting - the dwell time is the important factor and this can only be determined by experimentation - suggest in the region of 10 seconds with pressure applied. Ideally apply the T-5500N to a small piece of waste fabric first to test adhesion strength - after test application and allowing time for cooling pull back the edge and you should feel a strong resistance.
