All good artist brands make oil pastels, but Sennelier are the master brand. Their coverage is much better (thus requiring less layers), they blend beautifully. I agree with one reviewer who said you should use cheaper pastels in the lower layers. I have a box of Van Gogh pastels (60) that I use for this purpose... but when the base has been laid out and the real work begins, the Sennelier pastels make all the difference. Thank you in advance for your help.** A: That I am not sure, but you are going to want the box for protection of the pastels themselves I would think. These are very very soft.
