Would this brown a piece of toast?** A: Yes, Brown bread cook eggs etc. Depending on where you are going you might need a plug adapter. (I bought the two additional when they were on sale) I looked up my manual and it does say season it the first time you use it with a light coating of cooking oil on a paper towel. It only has a six page manual but if I were you, I would look up the company online and request a copy of the instruction manual. It doesn't have an address in the manual, so I can't give you the address, but I bet you can find it online. It has a one year limited warranty in the manual, so I would try to get the manual if I were you. It is great for cooking for one person.
