Under normal conditions, your body gets the energy it needs from carbohydrates in your diet. But if your diet does not contain enough carbohydrate to supply the body with sugar (glucose) for energy or if your body can't use blood sugar (glucose) properly, stored fat is broken down and ketones are made. Why test for Ketones?Since ketones are produced by the body as an alternative source of energy to sugar, the body produces ketones by breaking down fats, this process is known as ketosis. Testing for ketones is an integral part of weight loss since it indicates your body is using fat for fuel. It is important for people with diabetes on insulin to note that ketones can be produced when the body has insufficient insulin. Tests can show you when your level gets high so you can treat it before you get sick. How to do the urine test?1. Dip the strip with the test area into your urine sample (or you can hold the test strip under your urine stream).2. Shake off excess urine gently.3. After applying urine the strip will start to change color4. Check the strip color against the chart that came with your Keto Fitness Ketone test kit. This will show you the ketone level. How to store the strips and how long will they last?Store your Keto Fitness Ketone Test Strips in a cool, dry, place. The edges on the square on a some of the strips won't change color at all. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great deal for the money *by J***R on October 15, 2018* They work well.
