An excellent thixotropic agent used to control the viscosity of mixed epoxy systems. Can be used alone for a very smooth, non-sagging, high-strength mix, or combined with fillers or fibers to make them not saggy. Can also be used as a fly float. Also known as colloidal or smoked silica. CAB-O-SIL M-5 Smoke Silica is a medium surface smoked silica that allows a significant increase in viscosity in liquid polyester or epoxy system, allowing free flow of high-purity powders and reinforcement of silicone and organic rubbers. **Q: How should I dispose of it safely?**
A: In the container it came in

**Q: Is cabosil hs5 equivalent to cabosil m5?**
A: Works good, you just have to keep adding a little at a time to your pre mixed resin/hardener mix until you get the right consistency for your job.
Be sure to wear a good dust mask as this stuff is feather light & will blow all over, it weighs nothing.

**Q: can this be mixed with bondo to thicken?**
A: Yes this can thicken bondo. Just be careful because if you add to much your bondo will be dry.

**Q: Is this hydrophobic or hydrophyllic?**
A: CAB-O-SIL M-5 is widely used to provide thickening, thixotrophic (shearthinning), and anti-settling behavior in liquid systems. M-5 is most efficient in non-polar to medium polarity systems. M-5 offers the best balance of thickening efficiency and dispersibility
