I kept thinking there’s no way this dinky small thing will cold smoke anything. I was wrong. First of all it has a sleek and contemporary look. Things I didn’t like was It is a little loud for its size and the instructions could have been better. The tube doesn’t fit very well into unit so smoke leaks out and goes everywhere. But it’s still amazing for the size I have to give it 5 stars. In my video I was making smoked salmon nigiri on a potato puff. I let it smoke for two minutes and it was the most flavorful thing I’ve ever tasted. I was worried it was going to be complicated to use but it’s not bad at all. A few small wood chips creates a lot of smoke. I was surprised to find out that there is no igniter/heat mechanism. You have to light the chips using a secondary lighter. Also, the chips are not in a closed chamber. They sit in the black hole at the top. So, this thing is effectively a little vacuum. It's easy to use though and the rectangular shape makes it easy to keep the chips in place since it doesn't roll around. The vacuum effect helps suck the flame towards the chips so it lights up pretty easily and quickly.However, because the chips are open, it will smoke after you turn it off, so it's not really feasible to use indoors.
