## Questions & Answers

**Q: if you buy this fire does it come with a flue pipe and is it deliverd all together thankyou**
A: no ..the flu pipe is separate ..ours cost £1500 inc. mantlepiece solid slate surround and hearth ,and fitting..it came with a 10 yr guarantee..there are 2 thicknessess of flu pipe ..one lasts and one doesn't , so check with the hetas guy who installs it ..hope this helps :-)

**Q: What size flue fits this fire?**
A: Sorry can't remember but I think my installer said it was "standard", there are notes available to read online about the stove prior to and post purchase which are pretty comprehensive.

**Q: What size logs will this take.?**
A: Most standard size logs that you buy precut and any heat logs. If you're sourcing your own wood just don't get massive logs. Sorry for no specific sites but I've had no issues with my Fire - it's great

**Q: Sorry, have another question, can the Eco 7 be swept through the fire itself? Thank you**
A: Hi,We always recommend that you have an access hatch/door in the first section of flue pipe for easy sweeping of the chimney. You can remove the baffle (it is held in place with 2 bolts at the back of the firebox) nut it can be fiddly so it is always best to go through the pipe.RegardsRoss, 01929 555211

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Woodburner
*by A***S on 5 December 2017*

Stove been in about two weeks, bi disappointed that I can't "smell the wood" especially when burning an old apple tree, but that may have something to do with its green credentials I guess! But attractive stove

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ grate stove
*by I***L on 14 September 2012*

ok..first , the bad..YES the stove is dumped outside of your gate on a palette (that won't fit through my gate opening lol!) apparently the delivery guy "isn't insured to enter your property" ..this, i WAS expecting after reading other reviews on palette deliveries. it is rubbish however they really should send out 2 or 3 guys if needed as it isn't delivered in my opinion until it's in my HOUSE!! (rant) imagine the jobs market if every delivery van/lorry had to have a team of 2! (same with royal mail.. they're "investing millions on new equipment to make the delivery system so much more efficient"..why not just create a few more jobs lol!) the reason for this rant is the stove is 86kg!! yes! fairly heavy ! even for me and the massively built builder [nice one Monty ;-) enjoy the 4 pack! ..to go with your 6pack haha!] ok so the legs aren't attached either.. no big deal.. but when you put them on don't over tighten with a wrench, it will crack the virgin cast iron.. (it says don't use a wrench at all but the guy who did the installing said he usually 'nips them up'and mine's been fine). .. also for the first couple of weeks it should only burn very small kindling fires, and then add 1 log and let it burn out,..then 2 logs, etc gradually building up higher temperatures , this 'tempers' the virgin iron,..and all the molecules fall into place and harden it up to accept higher heats. i've had mine for a month now, and i still haven't used smokeless coal, however that will probably change in the winter ..it gives off even more heat then! ok...now the good, awesome heat, it looks beautiful, yes a little messier than gas, but definately worth it i.m.h.o. i can't believe the heat this this gives off when it's roaring after about 1 to 2 hours. i can sometimes just turn off the telly and watch the flames..really! also... be aware that this stove should be fitted by a H.E.T.A.S. fitter,..yes this expensive, but you will get a certificate which validates your building insurance etc, should your house burn down or you die of carbon monoxide poisoning, etc .. lol! this shouldn't happen if you get a registered hetas fitter. you can find logs (seasoned hardwood for around £40 per bag probably) in your area, that's about a cubic meter 'dumpy bag' which in cold winter will last around 2 to 3 weeks ..hope this gives newies a rough idea of pricing vs gas ..ps buy logs in summer not winter as prices rise! i use 1 or 2 firelighters ( purchased in bulk i think £20 ish for well over 200 on amazon) and when logs are delivered sweep up the smaller debris, put in a net 'kindling bag', (you'll have to buy a couple of bags of kindling off a log supplier first off)and this along with cardboard, newspapers, etc is great at getting the fire going....i'm not sure whether the 'defra' approved tag warrants an additional £200 from the £299 8kw non defra approved model (around 10% more efficient maybe? i dunno?) .. but if ever there's a clampdown for a 'smokeless zone' like in parts of london / birmingham etc,..then at least the approval will be worth a shout then. you also get the added benefit of crystal glass instead of 'schott' glass, i use 'astonish' (by kleenezee or bettaware) to clean the glass with when it does eventually fog up, and it's brilliant! ps also i recon it's worth having the stove installed a foot or so out from the chimney/fireplace, and using the rear outlet, to lose less heat UP the chimney,..but that's a personal decision. .. i may if i get time do a small video to go with this review..we'll see,.. but i'm really impressed by the quality of the product, and great heat,..and when the gas prices go up yet AGAIN , i won't be too bothered. oh yeah it also heats up a wesco wasserclass kettle reasonably quick,..say 20 mins (ish) saving more gas ;-) hope this gives you a little insight into the world of woodburners (carbonprint neutral by the way!) ian .. as an update, , i've found that using a stanley blade to scrape carbon deposits off the crystal glass is twice as fast again as using a cleaner! ..still LOVING the stove,.. the front room seems lifeless when it's not on now,..and has definitely cut the cost of our gas bill.
