The tyres do not need to be inflated, so you wouldn`t have the problem of soft tyres digging into the carpet. My Dad used this chair for several years indoors. Hope this helps? To put it in car, there are two levers one on each of the handles. You press them down and the handles fold back in into the wheelchair. You then pull up the seat to bring the chair together, enabling it to be lifted into the car. You will be surprised how light it is. There is a handy storage pouch on the backrest to pop phone, tissues purse in.
