I am glad I ordered this Philips brand and enjoy toting it anywhere. The electric cord is generous in length. The 6 C batteries are an I mprovement over 6 to 8 D size too many players required. My order arrived early and was packed in the manufacture box nestled inside an additional desertcart box. Interestingly, I was the first to purchase this model. I read so many reviews and browsed multiple big brand name websites for a portable CD/FM Radio player. Prices ranged from cheap to overly expensive. The common thread of complaints with the majority, centered on mediocre sound quality and skipping with the CD function. Another sticking point was size or features for aesthetics that did nothing to enhance the actual operation of the player. As luck would have it, I found this nifty Philips model. It is lightweight even with batteries. You can play CDs or the FM radio with plenty of volume. The bass boost button adds a rich dimension, too.
