We used the supplied stakes in the corners, and we filled the sand pockets on the sides with sand. I am guessing the wind was a steady 10-15 mph, with gusts perhaps up to 25 or 30 mph. The shelter certainly swayed with the wind, but never even came close to feeling like it was going to collapse or fold in the wind. I couldn't help but feel a bit smug watching so many of the other people struggling with theirs. And the sun protecting darker color on the inside worked better than I would have imagined. It was in the mid to upper 80's, and my wife was actually feeling a bit chilly inside the shelter. Thank you Easthills for making a product that does what it says, and more. It is important to make sure the legs are not twisted from the last time you used it. I can see why people have broken them. But if you just take your time setting this up and taking it down, it works as ordered. We live on the Outer Banks of NC and go to the beach several times a week. This shelter is perfect for keeping the pesky seagulls away when you are having lunch or a snack. When some of our friends visited recently we easily fit four adults and one small child inside along with our cooler and towels. the roll-up windows are great for allowing the breeze through the shelter with out the direct sun. The Velcro sand pockets are a very thoughtful design making it easy to take the shelter down when you are leaving the beach. The front floor/door is a very nice touch when you need a little privacy. Over all it is pretty easy to setup and take down.
