Superior to the Japanese original
The original Japanese film 'Ringu' is very good, but I find the American version of 'The Ring' to be one of those rare superior remakes. Naomi Watts as the mother and David Dorfman as her young son give fine performances, and for the most part there aren't any cheap scares. The supporting cast includes Martin Henderson and the always eminently watchable Brian Cox. I even enjoyed 'The Ring Two', albeit to a lesser extent, though as far as that goes, I realize that I'm in a minority.

Looks and sounds fantastic
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – A Stunning Upgrade That Makes the Horror Hit Feel New Again The Ring 4K Blu‑ray is an absolutely fantastic upgrade for one of the most iconic horror films of the 2000s. The new transfer looks incredibly clean and detailed, bringing out textures and atmosphere that were never as visible in previous releases. The native 4K presentation with Dolby Vision and HDR10 gives the film a richer, moodier look—perfect for a movie built on eerie visuals and slow‑burn tension. The audio is equally strong. The DTS‑HD Master Audio 5.1 track delivers crisp dialogue, unsettling ambient effects, and that chilling score with impressive clarity. It’s immersive without being overbearing, which suits the film’s tone perfectly. Packaging is solid too, with the release including the 4K disc, a standard Blu‑ray, and a digital copy for convenience. It’s a great value, especially for fans who want the best possible version of the film. If you love The Ring or just appreciate high‑quality horror restorations, this 4K edition is absolutely worth adding to your collection. It’s the best the movie has ever looked and sounded, and it breathes new life into a modern classic.
