The wavy edge is not rough like a serrated edge. But it does seem to make it easily cut through tougher skins like tomato, so it out performs a straight edge on many fruits and veg. The colored handles make it easy to find while preparing food. It has a lifetime warranty and I have never had a defective issue in years and years of use. Remarkably, the knife remains sharp and the blade has not bent or lost its tip. I literally carry one in my suitcase where ever I travel so I can prepare food without hassle.
