A: it says fiberglass in the description. i dont know wat is fiberglass but to a layman (like me) it seems like plastic type material. but dont think its weak or cheap quality. it is a very heavy and good quality hammer. i am going to buy another hammer lighter in weight so i have 2 options for my needs. hope this helps in answering ur question.
