Review: Excellent Gaming Speakers - These speakers are just the perfect if your looking for a proper 5.1 for your gaming needs. I upgraded from a logitech Z506 which was also a brilliant setup. The main difference between these are are that Z906 is extremely loud, powerful and the fact that you can actually wall mount these speakers also a major advantage is that these speakers use normal speaker wires which can be extended according to your room size were as the Z506 comes with fixed wires that cannot be extended easily and moreover they aren't powerful enough if you mount them on the walls. Speaking about the subwoofer they are really punchy that your tables and wardrobes start shaking. When it comes to 5.1 a proper placement is a must to really experience what these speakers are capable of. In games like Rise of the Tomb Raider, GTA 5, FORZA HORIZON 4, DIRT RALLY 2 the sound is extremely good that you literally hear every bit of whats happening in the back ground. These speakers have lot of options to set levels of rear speakers, center speaker and the subwoofer also you can switch between 3D sound which fills all the 5 speakers, 4.1 or 2.1 setup according to your taste. The remote is really sensitive literally works from anywhere and also is handy. These speakers are not just good for games they are also excellent for movies and music. Overall very good value for money and the quality build is TOP NOTCH. **Q: Can I regulate the bass power?**
A: You can put how much bass you want on the control module and also you can change how loud you want the centers and other speakers as well.

**Q: Is it realistically possible to jam/record/mix music with this system, as opposed to studio monitors?**
A: As a professional musician/sound engineer for over 30 years experience I would never recommend recording or jamming using any sort of speaker system marketed to the general consumer for 2 major reasons…

1) Compression; By the time you’re listening to a song movie video game or whatever you’re listening to has been through a process called “Mastering”. The simple explanation is it’s making fine adjustments to the different frequencies in order to to balance them out and then compressing them all together. When that happens all of the levels are relatively equal and all smoothed out. 
 Jamming and recording could damage your speakers because there’re not strong enough to withstand uncompressed audio, at least at a volume that you could work with. 

 2) Enclosure design; The speaker enclosures (cabinets) are usually manufactured to “color” the sound source for a few different reasons. One reason is that manufacturers design enclosures to “naturally” enhance the sound to get the most use out of the less expensive materials that are sometimes used. Another reason is so it sounds better right out of the box with little to no EQ input. 
 
 Studio monitors are made for uncompressed raw sound and most studio monitors are manufactured to be as flat of a response as humanly possible. The reason for that is so all of the sound manipulation done by whoever is doing the recording and not colored by a cabinet design which varies greatly depending on how it was designed. Done right this will make the recording of Joe’s new hit song sound great in his car while on his way to play it for his girlfriend on her home stereo system. In other words “consistent”.

**Q: I have a new computer with a soundblaster z. I do not get surround with my old speakers. Are these good with a soundblasterz? Surround?**
A: they are designed for it! but by SB Z's design, you will get better EAX and other features by using the analog connections for games. optical bypasses a lot of SBZ's features for games. 5.1 easily! with any connection! If that is all you want it for; games, music whatever, you can use any connection you like. You use digital for music and DVDs only(IMO). These Ltec Z906 speakers have inputs for both optical and analog! but YOU provide the cables!

**Q: True Surround Sound?  Does the rear speakers sound good and have true surround sound? I currently have the z506 and the rear speakers are not loud.**
A: The front and rear speakers are all the same, and yes, it's a true surround system. Sounding good is a bit subjective, but I'm pleased with it. The control console lets you independently adjust the dB level of the rear and center speakers as well as the subwoofer. By default, I found the rear speakers quiet. I adjusted them to maximum out of personal preference since I use the system mainly for gaming. At about 10ft behind me, I think it's pretty spot on, and can hear dialog clearly.That being said, your Z506 is a 75w system, this is a 500w system. Throw in the control panel, the remote, extra inputs... Hard to imagine you wouldn't be happier with this!
