I used it as a personal item bag. This bag can hold so much stuff! I had personal items, souvenirs, a pair of shoes and a host of other things in it. If the handles were longer (they are the size of gym bag handles) this bag I feel would have lasted me the entire 3 weeks. That's why I only gave it 4 stars. The inability to be able to carry it over my shoulder was tough.A few days before the end of my 3 week trip, the stitching started to come undone. Now, I did start putting more things in it as I traveled through the weeks. This aspect contributed to the pulling of the stitching along with the short handles. However, the stitching didn't completely come undone until my flight home. Even then, the interior fabric stayed intact!This bag may look like it's flimsy, but I assure you it is far from it. I'm actually going to buy another one, because I loved it so much. My advice is to not not fill it too much, because the short straps won't balance it enough for you to carry.
