Now it does cost twice as much, not that that makes it expensive as the Baofeng mic. is very cheap, it just makes it a more reasonable price. balanced against that the price may be twicew as high but the sound quality of it more than twice as good, giving a well modulated signal with good clear sound quality. I have not had a bad report since I started using it. On top of that the build quality, the styling which drops easily into your hand and the smooth well placed PTT button are all improved. i would fully recommend this microphone unit to anyone with a compatible Baofeng model that is having problems with sound quality from either the built in microphone or the official Baofeng hand microphone.
