Review: Great sound quality, bad with portability.. AT made the right compromises - So, one of the most popular pair of budget(agree or not) headphones. What about them? Really amazing sound quality according to me for the price.. Using them with my OnePlus 5 on HipHop preset and 90% volume level(out of the box setting was a bit shallow to my taste, and I couldn't push these above 70%, as it got a bit irritating) In order to really enjoy them, you would need to subscribe to a high quality streaming service(Spotify preferably, have tried gaana as well, but, the quality is not where closer to Spotify) Having told you about my setup, lets get into the things that I like about these headphones: - 5/5 on sound quality for the price, one can clearly differentiate the different instruments playing in the background, love the details - noise isolation(not cancellation) with standard earcups is good - build quality is pretty sturdy and the wire is held pretty sturdily as well. have used them for a couple of months only, but, I can confidently say that these headphones have been built to last.. - the headband is tight enough to hold it in the required position for as long as you want, and has pretty soft cushioning around it, so, no troubles there Now, coming to the the things that are a bit meh about these - the standard earcups are pretty uncomfortable in my opinion, I couldn't wear them for longer periods, so, had to get a new pair instead - the wire is pretty long, which can be a blessing, but, more of a curse in my case.. as I always have to keep it wounded and it looks stupid to carry it around - Also, this doesn't come with any carry poutch, so, you are on you own there All in all, it boils down to your preference (quality vs portability) I could live with the inconvience of carrying them around, so, went for these... so, it will all boil down to your preference (sound quality vs portability) Would definitely recommend this product

**Q: Are these noise-canceling enough to wear on a plane and not hear the plane noise?**
A: They do NOT have electronic noise canceling. They are over the ear. The cups absorb outside sound but not enough that would be considered "noise cancelling". They're mainly for DJ's, home, and professional studio producers who use them because electronic "Noise Cancelling" tech interferes with recordings.

**Q: are these good for big heads? i have trouble finding headphones that fit comfortably over my big head. also i wear glasses if that helps**
A: They grip my average size head fairly firmly. Not enough to hurt but a big head may have problems. I was able to bend mine a bit to lighten the grip

**Q: How does this compare to the ATH-M30? And how comfortable is it for extended hours of use?**
A: I can only respond to the 2nd part of your question as I have not tried the ATH-M30, but the ATH M20X was (for me) extremely uncomfortable even after using for only a short period of time. This was due to the, IMO,  excessive heat build-up which literally caused pools of sweat to collect inside the earpieces. I returned the headset after a few days.

**Q: Do these headphones come with  a carrying case?**
A: No, they don't come, but I suggest to buy a case just in case.
If you don't want to, buy it without a case, those are durable headphones, but you never know if you'll need the case to carry them in a bag, back pack, carry on.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nearly flat audio, great monitors for the price-range.

Great and works as advertised. Almost flat audio, no bass boost. Good as a budget monitor. One suggestions for those buying it for use with a PC- please check out the Amazon exclusive variant of this one which has a shorter cable that is easier to manage -Audio-Technica ATH-M20x/1.6. Build quality is good. and materials appear to be durable. I am reducing one point for repairability due to fixed cable. A detachable cable would be appreciated more. Since it is closed back and has snug fitting silicone earcups, passive noise cancellation is good. This takes us to the next point: While the fit is nice, the snugness can lead to discomfort due to heat build up. You will find yourself getting warm within 10-20 minutes of use. Just somethign to be mindful of. In Kanpur's moderate weather of March, I find the need to ventilate periodically to cool off the ears and wipe the prespiration from the cups to prevent damage to them. I think this is common in all closed back, over the ear headphones, though. Audio levels: Something inexperienced users like me should be mindful of. This has a capable and precise driver and make sure not to exceed 60-70% (50 to be safe) mark if you don't know what to expect from the file. It can be very loud and can hurt your hearing.
