We have discussed your suggestion with a qualified fisheries person. He suggested to use the Ice sheet to cool in vertical position in the aquarium. Its desirable to not cover the top water surface with Ice sheet. Pl note the Ice sheet would float horizontly and not sink in water.To achieve this one way is to slip the frozen sheet in a plastic film zipper beg and insert some pebbles in the zipper. now when you leave the bag in aquarium it will get vertical and as well the zipper will keep it ice sheet separated from water. Use zipper bag snugly fitting for the contents. We will also be doing the try out and can give you picture of application, in a few days.
