**Q: where was this knife made**
A: China.  Don't let that stop you.  As a knife collector for over 50 years, China makes some really good knives for the money.  Most 10 dollar china knives are far superior than Case knives costing 10 times as much.

A: The release is where the blade comes out. Push it to the side with your thumb and begin to close the blade and move your thumb!

A: Pushing down or pushing to the side? If it won't budge after pushing to the side, seek a replacement. Find a strong handed person and have them try too. Otherwise, it may be defective. Good luck!

This knife has been impressive. Especially the value for money. I have owned many knives in this price point, and by far this has been one of the best buys at this price. The knife came in excellent condition. There were no scuffs or evidence of moisture exposure on the knife at all. The shell was spotless and the packaging was secure. The blade came with a beautiful edge. There was no need to home the blade at all. No knicks on the edge and the tip was solid. The steel was mirror clean. The blade fits snug, it takes a little bit of effort to flick the blade open. This has relaxed some with use, so I assume it's just close on tolerances due to being a new blade. The spring assistance works beautiful and the blade lock is stable and easy to use if you are familiar with this particular style. This is a simple knife, and if you are familiar with this style of lockblade, there is little to learn about it. The only issue I would have with the knife is that the thumb assist on the back of the blade is a bit difficult to use, but the assist on the back of the knife makes this a secondary problem. I would definitely buy this knife again. The gift was well received and has garnared many compliments.
