Review: Great junior loft bed for a great price - This bed is pretty awesome for the price. I originally wanted a wooden junior loft bed with drawers/storage underneath, but just couldn't bring myself to pay for one of those when this one was so much cheaper. First off, my four-year-old loves it. He loves being "tall like mommy and daddy" when he's in his bed, and he spends a ton of time in his "clubhouse" underneath. We've put a bean bag, a clip-on lamp and a toybox under there, and it's where he and my husband sit to read a book before bed every night. He can't quite stand up underneath it, but there's still plenty of room for him to play. My husband and I can both fit under there pretty comfortably, too. The bed itself is good quality. I thought the silver might look cheap, but it actually looks really nice and doesn't clash with the wooden furniture in his room. It seems sturdy enough and we haven't had any issues with squeaking or any of the pieces loosening. The rungs of the ladder do seem a bit uncomfortable to me when I'm changing the sheets, but my son hasn't had any complaints and doesn't even seem to notice. The bed is recommended for ages six and up, but as long as your kid can safely climb a ladder and won't flop himself over the rails and out of bed at night, there's really no reason it can't be used by younger children. It wasn't too difficult to put together (took about an hour), although my husband did mention that some of the steps in the instructions are in the wrong order. He noticed it right away and worked around it, so we didn't have any issues with having to force pieces together like some other reviewers. We bought a six-inch mattress to go with it from desertcart and it fit perfectly. Zinus Sleep Master 6 Inch Spring Mattress, Twin I originally wanted a bit thicker of a mattress, but the six-inch is recommended by the manufacturer and it ensures that there's still plenty of safety railing available to keep him from falling out. I do have a couple of minor complaints that weren't even worth removing a star for. First of all, there's a huge warning sticker stuck to the headboard, which is pretty ugly. Considering how hard the tiny letter stickers (the ones that label all the pieces for assembly) were to get off, though, I haven't even attempted to remove it. Some Goo Gone would probably work if you really hate it and have a ton of patience. Secondly, due to the safety railings on the bed, it's almost impossible to get it made up neatly - there are always bits of sheet and comforter sticking up everywhere. (That's not so much a failure of this bed so much as loft beds in general, though, so no big deal.) My son cares about neither of these things; they're purely cosmetic issues for me. Overall, we're super happy with this bed, especially for the price, and we love the extra space it gives him underneath. While I was originally a bit skeptical about buying a metal bed over a wooden one, it ended up being the perfect purchase (minus that pesky sticker!). Five stars!
Review: Exactly what we needed for a great price - We got this low loft bed for our 6 and 4 year olds. Originally, they wanted a bunk bed, but I wasn’t comfortable with how high the top bunk usually is, especially since my oldest is an active sleeper and also the type to jump off everything. This low loft gives them the feel of bunk beds without that same risk. I also specifically wanted enough clearance underneath so my 4 year old wouldn’t feel like he was crawling into a submarine bunk. We’re using a twin mattress on the floor underneath (since this is technically a loft, not a bunk) and it works perfectly. For reference, the bottom mattress is 10.5" thick and still has about 27.5" of headroom before the top bars. The top mattress is 7" thick and leaves about 3" of railing, which felt a little low for us so we added an old toddler bed rail for an extra ~4" of safety while our oldest adjusts. We chose a metal frame after seeing too many reviews of wooden beds that cracked during assembly, and I’m glad we did. It feels sturdy enough for their ages, and the price point made it an easy choice since we will eventually separate them into their own beds and repurpose the space below into a storage or play area. My husband was able to easily assemble this himself and he used screw lock so we won’t have to keep retightening anything. No squeaking so far. It does have a slight wobble, but nothing concerning -- we don’t feel like it’s unstable or at risk of tipping. A couple things to note: - The ladder can only be installed in one position, so plan your room layout carefully. In our case, my son has to climb in from the head of the bed instead of the foot. - I saw reviews mentioning the ladder rungs hurting feet. My son says they’re fine, but as an adult, I agree they’re painful. We considered adding pool noodles, but they spun around and didn’t feel safe for a kid still learning to climb. - We did add a pool noodle to the bar above the lower bed to prevent head bumps when getting up at night and I definitely recommend that! - I’m 5’4” and can easily lean in to say goodnight without climbing. We might be adding something under the bottom mattress (like a thin piece of plywood) to lift it off the floor a bit, but it’s not strictly necessary. Overall, this has been a great, budget-friendly option that feels much safer as far as height goes than a traditional bunk bed while still giving the kids the fun they wanted. I also want to just add that my boys sleep very hot and don't like blankets, since in the photo the beds look incomplete. I strive to give honest, unbiased and helpful reviews -- I hope this information was useful!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Could you fit a queen bed lengthwise underneath the bed? Is it wide enough to have a bed fit in between the poles?**
A: Inside pole to inside pole measurement is 74.5 inches. A queen mattress (minus frame ) is 60 inches. So there should be no problem fitting the loft bed over the queen width-wise. It will probably not go over it length-wise, though it may go over some full sized mattresses that way.

**Q: What is the height UNDER the bed? I'm looking to get a dresser to fit underneath, but can't find any information to know how tall I can buy.**
A: Looking at these answers I’m starting to think that all these beds are cut differently. I did the “will it fit” before buying this and it was not accurate. This bed is SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than I thought. Someone said they could get a 4-drawer dresser under; we couldn’t even get that. A 3 draw dresser is under bed and it damn near touching the top. Someone else said a queen could go under there. I have a queen and my bed will not fit with the later. Maybe another twin or a full but nothing bigger.

I was EXTREMELY disappointed with this purchase and I couldn’t send it back because I bought it months in advance as gift when I saw it in person, I wanted to cry

**Q: anyone know the ladder rung thickness? need to know how thick of pipe wrap to get..**
A: It is a guess but at most 1" possibly a little smaller. We have one of those pool noodles wrapped around them so our daughter doesn't need to step on the metal rungs.

**Q: Can the ladder be flipped to the left along the long side (in pictures it's on the right along the long side)**
A: No. The ladder only can go in the one spot.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to follow instructions. Sturdy. Large box
*by J***A on 9 May 2021*

Love this. I was expecting a bit more of a flimsy product, but I was majorly surprised. Came in a long (7 ft 5 in) and heavy box, so its not easy to hide on the porch upon delivery. I assembled it myself with no help, its very sturdy, and does not make that awful scraping sound that ive had experience with in the past for metal furniture. All parts were in there plus extras in separate packaging, and included the Alan key which is the only tool needed, except scissors to unpack. Just make sure you pay attention to parts identification and the 4 post orientation at the start. For use use the instructions, which are easy to follow. I am extremely happy with this purchase!!
