THIS CAPACITOR is 4.125" TALL by 2.375" WIDE - MEASURE Old Capacitor for Correct Fit.SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE MAXRUN 55/5 MFD 370/440 VOLT CAPACITORIt will run from -40 C. to +70 C and is safety rated at 10,000 AFC.It is rated for 440 Volts, which means it will work at 370 or 440 VAC. A dual run capacitor, such as this 55/5, combines two capacitors into one unit. It will power a compressor motor and a fan motor, and has three terminals on the top. They are labeled "Herm" for the compressor motor, "Fan" for the fan, and "C" for the common line.Run Capacitors work hand in hand with Electric Motors that power the compressors and condensers that make air conditioning work. For this purpose, the Capacitor works the same way as a battery. It stores and releases a large charge very quickly. This released charge gives the motor the spin it needs to start and run correctly.As Air Conditioning Capacitors age, they lose their ability to hold a charge and get weaker.As the capacitor gets older, the motor may get louder and seem to run slower. If replaced before they get weaker, its possible to lengthen the life of the motor. Eventually, the capacitor will get too weak to start the motor and if the motor can't start, it can short out. Review: SAVED MONEY REPLACING MYSELF!! - Great product. My a/c blew just before a heatwave. Googled and found out we should check the capacitor. It’s I guess the battery for the a/c unit. Our old capacitor was definitely blown after checking it with a meter checker thing? No current. It was like 30 years old. Never been changed. Installed the new capacitor and found out that when the old capacitor blew, it also took out a fuse in my main fuse box. Not even knowing to check it, except to flip it off when we were working on the capacitor. The a/c wasn’t working, the capacitor did have a current. My mom called an a/c guy out and said our fuse was blown (needed a 60 as the original 40 was not the right one to run this unit. The 40 was fried! He changed the fuse and told us that we saved money changing out the capacitor & told us to check the fuse plug should this ever happen again. So also check your fuse plug to make sure it’s not blown if your capacitor is holding a charge but a/c still not turning on. Saved over $100 doing it ourselves!! Highly recommend this product!!! So happy!! I’m a girl, so don’t be afraid ladies to do some DIY!! Aloha!! 🤙🏻

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easiest thing to install!

Most of the time its just a capacitor issue. This definitely fixed my Trane xr12 HVAC unit at first the fan would not come on without assistance and the compressor just hummed. Make sure you disconnect the main power and the inside breakers so you dont electrocute yourself. While your in there make sure all the wires are still connected to the posts where they should be. this would make it also seem like the capacitor is dying if it has a loose connection. but this product works as advertised...
