It's absolutely gorgeous in appearance, seems sturdy, but only time will tell. It took us about an hour and a half to put it together and all parts were there, nothing was bent or mishaped, or torn. I surprised my daughter with it, when she arrived home from college this week. I put the bed together by myself and it took me about an hour but was easy enough to do following the directions provided. I would recommend having an electric screwdriver handy and I'm not sure that is mentioned in their product information.
