Review: ... these in-ear headphones for a month and I'm really happy with my purchase - I've now owned and used these in-ear headphones for a month and I'm really happy with my purchase. I bought them because I work in an office with a single communal lunch room and I like to study while I'm having my lunch. It's so noisy you can hardly hear yourself think so I tried using a pair of Apple in-ear headphones and combined it with a white noise app that bellowed the sound of an air conditioner into my ears. It was useless as I could still clearly hear the racket around me so I tried my luck on a pair of Sennheiser CX300 II's and I'm so glad I did! These headphones are fantastic for reducing the external noise as they fit inside your ear canal using the supplied rubber fittings. Three different sizes are supplied (small, medium and large) with the medium already attached and this fits me perfectly. My wife has very small ears and the small size fits her ears well. Next, the sound quality is surprisingly brilliant for any application, a good range of base and very well balanced. If you like listening to music with lots of bass or like to listen to podcasts you'll be equally satisfied. The build quality I would say is very good too, no problems in that department and I'm very happy. 2 year warranty is supplied so I'm sure all will be well in case of a fault. It comes with a small pouch to keep your headphones in and that's a nice touch. Just to balance the review with negatives; I find my headphones are always tangled up when I take them out of the small pouch, no knots but I have to spend a minute to untangle them every use. Also the design is the right headphone lead is much long than the left, rather than both being the same length to the join. It means you could plug one ear in or loop the right lead round the back of your head. I'm not a particular fan of this design but that's a personal preference and I can see the benefits. Just to sum up - quality in-ear headphones, very comfortable to wear for extended use and amazing all-rounder sound. Can't go wrong at this price.
Review: Perfect for years of daily use on tube and bus - Sennheiser is a top manufacturer, and these are amongst their best products. I've used assorted Sennheiser and AKG headsets/phones/buds professionally and privately since the early 1970s, and the sound with these tiny buds is as good as the best. The bass is purer and smoother than many hi-fi loudspeakers. The top is sweet and clear, often a problem with older ears, but nothing is woolly with these buds. They are also very efficient, so need a lower volume setting, and the batteries on my ear-player last significantly longer than with its original earphones. I listen to a wide range of material from jazz to pop to choral to orchestral to speech. It all sounds very natural, and I have applied almost no equalisation in the player, nor any SRS, nor any Extra Bass. With these, the original sound sounds best, stays in your ears and does not disturb even your closest neighbours on the tube. BUT, there is a definite trick to making sure the sound is good. The seal to ones ear must be air-tight, otherwise bass is lost and extraneous noise leaks in. How then? Lubricate them! Moisten the ear canal, and also the soft rubber adapter, to allow it to slide in easily and find the best fit. Also, don't push it in too far as this might bottom the adapter on the curve of the ear canal and block the sound outlet. As Ronnie Barker might have said, you may need to jer-jer-jer-jiggle it a bit. Most ears do not have a circular canal, more often it is almost triangular, so it is a miracle these buds fit so well in so many different ears. Try each of the three different sizes for the best moist fit! I don't go jogging with them, but I do walk a lot, as well as use public transport every day, and the movement rubbing on the leads could be a problem. But by stowing the long lead around the back of the neck and using an inner pocket for the ear-player and any surplus lead, the unwanted noises are reduced to an acceptable minimum. And of course when sitting still there is no problem at all. I was wondering how durable they might be when I bought my first set of the original CX300 ear buds seven years ago, and I have been careful to avoid knots with stowing the lead when not in use; one pocket is dedicated to the ear-player and buds. The cords are reasonably tangle resistant, but a determined vandal could wreck them quite quickly. For all that time in daily use over maybe seventy thousand miles my old set continued to sound as good as new, with no signs of deterioration in the rubbers or the leads, so when eventually the left bud went open circuit at the join to the voice coil it owed me nothing. I was very happy to buy this new set as a replacement, and it has proved to be every bit as good, still with the clean full range sound. These CX300-II deserve the highest recommendation.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the difference between Sennheiser CX 300 II and Betron RK300 ?**
A: I don't know the Betron, but I own both the SoundMAGIC ES20 and E10 and they are better built than the Sennheiser. SoundMAGIC cabling is really well made and the earphones themselves are constructed from aluminium. The Sennheiser's feel a bit cheap and plasticy to me.

**Q: Do they come in the manufacture case as it would if I were to buy it from a store?**
A: Yes it comes in a plastic casing which is very hard to get into lol

**Q: How do you adjust the length of the wire for each individual headphone once they split off?.. The left headphone is far shorter than the right one**
A: Hey Sam, sadly you can't. The idea is that the longer wire goes behind your neck. It stops the headphones getting in the way. Hope this helps.

**Q: Do they leak noise? Being in ear I am hoping they wont. Please help!**
A: Well, if your playing your iPod on full volume without them in your ears, you'd be able to hear the music. But when worn, the sound of anything around you is about half as loud, maybe less. This means you don't have to push the volume much in order to hear NOTHING but your music, at 50% vol you can't hear anything going on around you unless in a "louder-than-usual" environment, I think at 60% ish you get more of a crisp! full sound! anything above that really isn't needed unless your hard of hearing. I've noticed more in the music I've listened to before with these phones so I'd say they keep the sound in your ear when worn, this is possibly supported more so by the fact that half as much sound gets in from the outside.I'm sure anyone who isn't an audiophile who wants best of the best would be satisfied with these earphones, they are better than anything similar for the same price, in my opinion.

Nice sound, cheap and cheerful. Good value for the money. Always have problems fitting earbuds in my ears and these are better than the norm, very forgiving silicone tips.
