Review: Quality - These lock knives are really good quality and a lot cheaper than others. I still have the exact same knife my father gave me 52 years ago, proof of the durability and quality. I bought this one out of curiosity to see if it had changed...but no it's still the same....this one has gone in my fishing box.
Review: Good basic work knife - Very pleased with this as a general purpose hard wearing knife for my workshop. Handle is comfortable enough, the liner lock works well and disengages without too much effort, and the blade was sharp out of the box, but the steel takes a good edge if you want to hone it. I would happily recommend this

**Q: I have one of these and can not work out how to open it.**
A: You need to pinch the middle of the blade and pull it open.

**Q: I just bought this knife and I'm not finding it easy to close. Any advice?**
A: I use the knife for whittling walking poles, and so it is important to me that it locks solidly in use. Like you, I initially found the blade hard to close, but there is a definite knack. Looking at the knife with the blade open and to the right, you will see text saying "PRESS TO CLOSE", and where the CLOSE is situated there is a dip in the case. Holding the handle of the knife in the left hand, press on the steel flange within the dip, away from you. (If you look at the knife from above whilst doing this, you will see the flange move out of the way of the base of the blade, freeing it to be closed). With the right hand, gently and carefully push the blade up from below for about 2cm. The handle-end of the blade then traps the flange in the appropriate position so that the rest of the blade closure is easy.Hope this makes sense, and that it works for you.If it doesn't work, then I recommend that you contact the supplier and ask them to replace your knife, citing the above notes and stating that this doesn't happen with your knife.John

**Q: Is this knife suitable for wood whittling/carving?**
A: I haven't donw much whittling but it locks well; safe and securely. Has a good blade with a pointed end. For the money I's say it would do the job.

A: I've slightly bent the very end of mine but that was my fault ... Overall the blade is good

Very nice knife, which I've bought before. This version has a locking mechanism to stop it folding which would be good except the lock risks the blade closing on the user's thumb.
