**Q: Would this speaker be good for 80's metal?**
A: Yes, it definitely would sound good for 80’s metal. I use it and a swamp thang in a 2x12 for death metal along with a Peavey Rock Master Preamp and Classic 50/50, but it can do 80’s stuff no problem.

**Q: Is it good for stoner rock?**
A: Eminence makes a couple 150W ceramic speakers - blue labels are "american voiced" and red labels are "british voiced." But in short, YES. Any of the 150W speakers are practically made for an Emperor cab and stoner rock Heaven!

**Q: im a shredder, I like playing blazing riffs, you think this or swamp thang would be better ?**
A: Texas heat sounds like something Steve is Ray Vaughn would play on. Swamp thangs are a fuller sound for more Rhythm playing.

**Q: Anyone ran a 4X12 of these with a marshall 100w head? Sound any good?**
A: I ran 2 Texas Heats and 2 Swamp Things in a an X pattern thur my 4x12. With my Marshall Oringin 50. Sounds great plus my cab is a 300 watt cab now. My cab was a creat 100 watt but your should have no problem.

I was looking for a speaker to put in my Vibrolux single channel. I wanted something different from the smooth cone speaker that came in it. I went through several speakers before I found the Texas heat and all I can say is my search is over.This speaker has a full low end without being flabby the midrange is smooth as glass and the highs are present without being piercing.Because my amp cabinet is the size of a Princeton reverb I needed a speaker that sounded big and full. This speaker accomplished this and really compliments the amplifier by bringing out those sweet Vibrolux tones.Eminence nailed it with this truly American sounding speakerThanks Mike

I put two of these in my 1980s Peavey combo amp and WOW! It’s a whole new amp now. I play punk rock and metal and these have a very full sound even in an open back amplifier. I would recommend them to anyone.
