Review: Amazing Trilogy, Remastered to Perfection! - Ive grew up playing Spyro the dragon on the PlayStation. So when the remaster was announced I was over the moon and excited to jump back in to play this game and complete the original trilogy one last time. When you Insert the disc you will have to download/install spyro 2 and 3, since only spyro the dragon is pre-loaded on the disc, now with that being said that isn't a big issue so that wont be taken into consideration when im doing the star overall rating. But for people who hate going online or people who dont have WiFi (yes I know a few people who dont have wifi in there house) then it could be a issue. Now onto the gameplay or more importantly the graphics! Now if your like me and grew up playing the originals, then you would know what the PS1 graphics were capable back in the day and what spyro was like in term of texture and quality. With the remaster they really out did themselves, the menu looks amazing, the game world is astonishing and even the guidebook is majestic. When they made this game they build it from the ground up, meaning that started from fresh and didn't use the original coding from the original trilogies. So each level was designed from scratch, and even the controls got a make over and they feel incredible. Especially with the camera angels being a major improvement, because we all know what they were like back in the day. They even brought the barrel role from spyro 1 into the other games, so now we can use that to our advantage on certain bosses from spyro 2 and 3. Speedways are now more clearer to see, mainly to do with the render distance. So now we can see the whole map rendered and can see further images on screen off in the distance in focuses and clearer to make out. Bonus levels like with hunter and sparks are also improved, although with hunter level they may need to do a slight update because on some levels in the speedways when you go to find hunter to do the bonus game you may find hunter to be slower then spyro, thus makes it hard on one level where you have hunter shooting bugler cats of buildings and spyro has to collect the money bags. Other then that the levels look brilliant. Cutscenes have a bit more dialog and show a lot more then the originals did. This is mainly because the games back then could only have a certain amount of pixel on screen and how much memory was being used on the cutscene, so in the remastered they added more scenes to the cutscenes making them a bit longer, but much more enjoyable. With any game there are faults, and upon playing I didn't find any issues that made the game unplayable, but in some cases I did find some faults with glitches, but only spyro 3 had the most glitches and I mean the most, I might of found 2 or 3 with the first 2 games, but with spyro 3 it felt as if the developers rushed the last portion of the game. So hopefully they fix this in the near future. The other issue I found was with Hunters character design. I Never like his design from Heroes Tail, and that what his design in the remastered game reminds me off, If they could redesign him like the old days then that would be a lot better, but taking inspiration from Heroes Tail is like saying the Legend of spyro hunters design was second choice. Overall this game is amazing, had a lot of fun playing it and reminiscing of the old days, playing this as a kid and beating levels much easier then I remember then, but this might be down to the remaster and the controls that go with it, but overall its a game worth getting and its a game worth pacing down from generation to generation.
Review: Spyro's back, baby!!! - Ok, since it's looking to be a bit of a tradition with the reviews on this game, let's get the obvious out of the way first- yes there is a big patch when you put the game in for the first time. No it's not the end of the world. I know some people ate saying it took hours to download, but it only took 45 minutes for me. The patch only affects 2 & 3, so if you can't wait to play, just play spyro 1 while you're waiting for the rest to download. Ok? Good. Let's move onto the review. This remake is everything I hoped it would be and more. The second that the Artisan home world loads up and that music begins to play, you are hit by a wave of nostalgia. Everything looks so amazing and fresh, yet so familiar. The developers have done an amazing job making this game. As well as it all looking more colourful than a tin of Quality Street, the empty, open spaces are now crammed with scenery and grass, plants, rocks, you name it. Yet they still look completely faithful to the originals. The remastered soundtrack is amazing- very true to the originals, with only one or two tracks that don't quite hit the mark. The dynamic music is quite immersive- echoing when you're in a cave, quiet and peaceful when hou9sitting still, and full on when you're moving around and attacking. However, if you're yearning for the old sound, there's an option to toggle the soundtrack to the classic ps1 score. Spyro 1 is definitely the one that has benefited the most from the remake- from the updated look, to the fact that now every single dragon you rescue has a unique look and personality. They look amazing, and it got to the point where I was looking forward to freeing the next one just so I could see what he looked like. The added Skill Points to the first game is a welcome addition, providing a little extra challenge to spyro veterans. Spyro 2 is as good as you expect it to be. Nothing really added here, just a fresh coat of paint to an already awesome game. Spyro 3 really shines. The graphics and textures look awesome here, and it plays better than ever. The controls have been vastly improved for the extra playable characters, notably sergeant Byrd and Agent 9, as well as the skateboarding controls. The cutscenes are way more expressive now and adorable- they look like they have been plucked straight from a tv show, and there are moments, like Spyro's fist bump with agent 9, that just really capture the personalities well. The final scene is WAY improved on from the original- I won't spoil it, but it's adorable. Now, there are a few little negatives that just need to be addressed. While the game plays perfectly identical to the originals for the most part, a couple of glides have been made harder due to hit detection, and the charging doesn't fell QUITE as tight as it should- it's unnoticeable for the most part, usually only comes to light when you are chasing certain thieves. I also very occasionally had a glitch in Spyro 3 where some of the NPC'S didn't have the option to talk to them unless I approached them from a certain angle. It didn't happen often, but it's worth mentioning. And just as a little bonus thing to mention, bear in mind that Sparx now has the ability to locate missing gems in all 3 games right off the bat by clicking L3- comes in handy for finding gems that blend in a bit too well with the scenery ;) Overall, this game is a true love letter to all the Spyro fans out there. You can just tell that so much heart and soul has been poured into this remake. I may even go as far to say that this is the definitive way to experience the original trilogy, though of course I will always go back and play the originals. If you are new to Spyro, this is an excellent way to start. If you are a long time fan, this game is a must-have. I look forward to a new Spyro game in the future.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: what is the pal of this game**
A: I think you mean region and it would be PAL for UK

**Q: Is spyro 2 ripro’s ragr the same as spyro 2 gateway to glimmer?**
A: Yes Gateway to glimmer was the name released in the UK Ripto’s rage What’s the name for the release in the US

**Q: Does anyone know if there is going to be spyro riptos rage remastered edition or is this it?**
A: It’s called the Reignited Trilogy - which means it contains full remasters of the first 3 original Spyro games (which includes Ripto’s Rage).

The on disk content has not been confirmed properly and so far has been publicised incorrectly. The disk contains all 3 games, a day one patch is what is refered to be able to play the latter two whilst TFB work on completing these up until release.

Basically, you’re not getting Spyro 1 physically in disk with Spyro 2 & 3 on download. This is information that is currently being incorrectly reported around various websites.

**Q: Will it make me forget im an adult**
A: Unfortunately, any reports that Spyro: The Reignited Trilogy shares any properties with the fabled Fountain of Youth are purely speculative.
