Even if you used something as big as a trash can, squirrels can jump pretty high, so I suspect it could get out. Unless you went the filling it up with water route, in which case is would not be able to get out and would drown. I have some squirrels in my barn that need to be rehomed and I plan to use a have-a-hart trap. **Q: How long is the ramp?** A: dont know the exact length but it goes to the center of a 5 gallon bucket **Q: Can this be used to catch chipmunks?** A: Yes, but be sure to use a bucket deep enough so they can't jump out.
