I adjusted the valves half a dozen times, making sure the push rod and compression release were good, to no avail. I watched another YouTube video that suggested it could be the coils so I purchased this set and instantly saw a massive difference. It was running smoothly, good response throughout the throttle range and the headlights were way brighter. Although I probably only needed one, I replaced both since it is great value for a pair.
