## Questions & Answers

**Q: Why are there so many 5 star and 1 star ratings? What is going on here?**
A: I think it depends what you are trying to do. They point out that it is not a glue, for instance I had a piece of hard plastic break off, the fit beteween the two parts was very good, but of course the curing only takes place where the UV can reach, in this case there was no chance of the UV reaching into the joint, so any of the Bondic that is not exposed to the UV will not cure. It is better if you can build up a fillet round the break, then, assuming that it will bond to the sort of plastic involved, you have a a better chance of success. I tried using industrial cyanoacrolate to glue the parts together and then reinforced it with a fillet of Bondic  and that had marginal success. 
If you watch the videos, pretty well all the examples like broken glasses rely on a large fillet round the join rather than the fit between the parts.
That probably explains why the very different views expressed here. It isn't a glue and if you use it that way for anything but, say clear glass, where the UV can reach all the Bondic, then I'm afraid it's unlikely to work, and yes I was taken in and bought multiple kits and have yet to have any real success with it. I'll try it on some of my model making projects at some stage where it may be of more use

**Q: Can you use it for jewllery**
A: In my experience you can use it for anything you don't need sticking. It doesn't work on anything.

**Q: Do you have to use chemicals to clean up if you spilt some like epoxy resin ?**
A: Manufacturer recommends using organic solvents to clean up spills of any liquid.

**Q: How long is the shelf life once opened?**
A: As Bondic does not cure with air and is stored in a black tube, Bondic can last for years. This is unlike glues which dry up as soon as you open them if not used.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wasn't sure why I wanted this but it's proving very useful

Saw this demonstrated on a craft programme on shopping TV. The demonstrations of it's use were somewhat underwhelming but I found the concept interesting and thought I might find uses for it, so bought one.So far it has proved very effective for sticking tiny (Ø3x1mm) rare earth magnets into paper and card craft constructions. More impressive was building a replacement hinge pin for a broken Fiskars Paper Trimmer (made from clear plastic). I'd tried various glues to stick the hinge pin back but the stresses of snapping it back into place were too much and it always broke off again. The pin was about 3mm in diameter and 8mm long so I decided to try building one in situ with Bondic. It was important to make sure all traces of glue were removed from the plastic then I applied Bondic layer by layer curing as I went until I had a pin of roughly the right proportions.It didn't look very pretty (you can sand or file the cured plastic if required) but to my delight it snapped into place on the cutter which is now working as good as new. A replacement cutter would have been £26 so the Bondic has more than paid for itself with this one repair.The curing process is so fast - literally seconds to achieve full strength - makes it a pleasure to work with. I'm optimistic I'll find other uses for Bondic in the future.The unit comes in an "aluminium" case.... first time I've seen magnets stick to aluminium! Even if it is brushed steel, the case is quite nice and keeps the light away from the unit.

OK but not great, seems to work on some things and not others, did not work on my glasses frames but worked on a glass vase. pay your money and take a chance.
