Hogwash. I've been using non-Apple chargers and cords for ten years or more--dozens of different combinations. No problems with good quality ones. But not all cheap cords work. Look for a cord that's labeled "MFI" (made for iPhone)--those are certified by Apple to work properly. Not that they are the only ones that will, but they're a sure bet. Anker chargers and cords are also safe bets, in my experience. Just stay away from the cheap plastic cords and chargers sold at the checkout counter in convenience stores. The cords may or may not work, and some of the cheap chargers can actually be dangerous fire hazards. **Q: Can I use it with a 110v vacuum?** A: Very likely not.
