Firstly we found we couldn't get the tap to fully eject from the barrel. Then when we got towards the end of the barrel we found there was still what appeared to be a significant amount of beer left that couldn't be extracted, a venting issue maybe? I reckon there's a good pint left in there possibly more. A friend of mine had alerted me to the beer left in the barrel issue after I posted a picture of the keg on Facebook, they ended up drilling a hole in the top of the barrel to extract the last of the beer. I'll be in touch with Marstons on this one, currently thought it's probably best to buy this beer in your local or in bottles. Lovely though it is and you really do get the full benefit of a cask ale at home!
