If you are going to paint them, I suggest thin layers of paint and drying time in between coats. They are paper maché, so they will become fragile as they will soak up liquids. But thin layers will work great. I was very happy with them and with the seller. I won’t hesitate to purchase again Review: Great for Halloween - Bought these for Halloween costume and there’s plenty of them - the fastening for the elastic breaks pretty easily but for the effect of being spooky, they’re perfect - just don’t get them wet as they are made of thick formed card paper and they are therefore not waterproof! You can also draw or paint your own design on them and I suppose if you gave them a coat of clear PVA or gloss over your custom design (or direct over the white) they could be made waterproof.
