Instead of being flat and solid, a dimple has been stamped into the terminal to expand it to the normal thickness. The plastic of the connector is not the high quality glass-filled stuff, either, it's some cheap kind of plastic. There are no explicit specifications given for the maximum temperature of the braided insulation outside the wire. I would hope that it can go to 180 C. But the product page says "Material: Metal, Plastic; Net Weight: 78g". If the insulation is plastic (it's not metal), I'd be concerned about using it at higher temperatures. I got this to check our oven temp and it ought to handle that, but the high temperature spec is a bit low, around 350F. I can live with it. The insulation looks adequate and the diameter is small enough to close the oven door on. The accuracy is within a few degrees, at least in the range of around 32 to 100F that is easy for me to check, and the small error that I see is as likely to come from my meter as from the thermocouple wires.
