No scratches and everything is intact. One thing I like with the top opening is that you don't need a lot of space when you want to open your luggage. The lid stays at 45 degrees and it's light. I submitted a review to this regard after the return window had closed. The vendor responded promptly and offered to replace the product at no extra charge. Love that it opens the way that a soft side case opens.Negatives: the light color (pink) shows scuff marks. I would have preferred the red but that is not available in all sizes. The case (26 inch) is heavier than a soft side but wheels easily and maneuvers well. I was able to piggy back the carry on (purchased a strap separately) and the two cases were easy to pull.Huge negative: no customer service to my issue with the built in lock. I followed the instructions to set my own combination but the lock jammed. I couldn't set the combination or change it back to the factory set. As I was traveling the following day, I had to purchase a lock. I've attempted to contact customer service several times; the only response that I received was a link to a video about how to set the lock. The lock is broken. They gave not addressed the issue at all.I would have gladly recommended this purchase without reservation but given the lack of support with this issue, it's buyer beware.June 21, 2024 update: after posting the above review, customer service contacted me. They sent a brand new case and I was able to set the lock without issue.
