Review: Great Montessori-style bookshelf that keeps books accessible, but size is smaller than expected - I got this ZICOTO wooden bookshelf for my toddler’s playroom to encourage independent reading and keep books more organized and accessible. Assembly was quick and simple, taking under 30 minutes, and all parts fit together without issues. Once built, it feels lightweight but stable for everyday use. The front-facing Montessori design is the standout feature. It makes it easy for my child to see book covers and choose books independently, which has noticeably increased how often they reach for books on their own. In daily use, it helps reduce clutter and keeps a small rotation of books neatly displayed. However, it doesn’t hold a large number of books, and bigger or thicker books don’t fit well, so it works best as a display shelf rather than full storage. Overall, it’s a nice, simple option for encouraging early reading habits and independence, as long as you go in expecting a smaller, curated book setup rather than heavy storage capacity. ⚠️ Things to consider The main downside is size. It is smaller than I initially expected, so it won’t hold a large library of books. It’s best suited for rotating a selection of favorite books rather than storing everything at once. Also, while it feels sturdy once assembled, I would still recommend anchoring it if you have a very active toddler, just for extra safety. 💰 Value for money For the price, I think it’s a good buy if your goal is organization and encouraging early reading habits. It’s more about accessibility and display than storage capacity. 🏁 Final thoughts Overall, I would recommend this bookshelf for parents looking to create a Montessori-style reading space or keep a small, curated book collection within reach for toddlers. It’s simple, functional, and visually appealing, but best used with realistic expectations about storage space.
Review: Perfect First Bookshelf for Toddlers - If your child is anything like ours and loves books, you’ll love this! He used to get upset when we removed his books from the playpen, so we finally got him his own bookshelf. Now he pulls the books out himself, opens them, and flips through the pages. It keeps everything organized, is low and easy to build, and makes it easy for little ones to reach their books as they develop better sitting and motor skills.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quality bookcase with good board book visibility
*by S***Y on July 27, 2026*

This is a very cute little bookcase, perfect for toddlers. We love that it’s Montessori inspired; the shelf is just the right height for my toddler to grab and put back the books on her own. I got a different brand before this one, and the height was not toddler friendly and the books weren’t easily visible. This bookcase is perfect for board books though and the covers are much more easily visible! Especially tiny books, which fit excellent in the bottom row. The material feels nice, the cloth and wood. It appears well made and durable and will last me for a good amount of time to come. Overall very pleased with this purchase! Beautiful and functionally designed.
