This book has pretty much everything I usually avoid in a book (single dad, MMC in law enforcement, suspense storyline, interconnected series) and so I know I wouldn’t have even bothered giving it a go if I had, and so I’m so so glad I didn’t.I thoroughly enjoyed this from start to finish, it was so hard for me to put it down to go to bed last night and to go to work this morning. I loved both the MCs, and Owen was brilliant, I really enjoyed the suspense aspect, I totally didn’t realise who the murderer was until it was revealed, and yeah, just a really great book! I’m looking forward to going back and reading the other brothers stories now, because I’m finding myself loving this little (ok, kinda large) family.Would definitely recommend! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 Stars 🌟 *by T***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 September 2024* Another sweet and heartwarming story from Ms Kingsley, with a nice amount of drama and suspense thrown in.Harper is the new baker in Tilikum, she has such a kind heart and so desperately wants to be welcomed and become a part of the small town. One sure fire way to be accepted is with her amazing sugar cookies and it isn’t long before the word spreads about her amazing talent in the kitchen.Deputy Garret Haven is a busy guy, not only with his patrol duties, his new interest in investigating and detective work but also as a single dad of his teenage son Owen.Neither Garret nor Harper have time for dating ….but sometimes the heart wants what it wants!!It was so lovely to read along as this little family became each others strength. The bond between Harper and Owen was nicely written, there’s a little sprinkling of steam but the main theme is found family and finding the person who will risk anything for you and their family….
