They are long wearing and have a light fruity scent to them that I like. They don't smell like anything once they are on my lips. I don't notice a taste either. The packaging design reminds me of the Bay Free packaging with the big pink dot and white tops. Copyright infringement maybe, but very cute!. The colors are super wearable. I usually gravitate towards lighter brights, but even the dark colors are surprisingly versatile. I can put on just a little and turn a vampy purplish red into a lighter cool-toned raspberry by dotting it on instead of filling in the whole lip. It's kind of fun to have colors I would never otherwise try.Most of these are water gel type stains with a fuzzy doe-foot applicator. They dry down matte and work well with some sort of lip balm/gloss on top. Unexpectedly, two of the colors are actually creams. They are not thick or chalky and have a nice slip to them. They have a bit of gloss, but the shine wears off quickly. The stain that is left behind is much more subtle than the gel ones, not as super strong and vibrant. I actually like having both gels and creams for variety. The creams are more understated. The gels are intense and bright. The tubes are quite small, but I think they might last a long time because I don't have to wear much or reapply very often.One downside: my case came with a hairline crack in one corner. I didn't mind since this set is for myself. If it were a gift, I'd probably ask Amazon for a replacement. Not enough of a flaw to detract a star.
